Gone Fishin’

I don’t fish.  But I love the idea behind the sign.

As I sit here typing two of my three kids are waiting downstairs so that we can head out on the Hop On – Hop Off Double Decker bus tour of this awesome city of ours.

The third is on his way home from a sleep over.

“Gone fishin’” popped into my head because it’s what I realize I need to do.

Yesterday I was speaking with another self-employed working mom about the fact that we chose our work to have flexibility, yet so often we don’t take advantage of it.

So, I am hanging my sign and ‘going fishin’.

My family and I are off to Nova Scotia for our annual reunion so I won’t be back until the Sept.

Doing Things Your Way

Happy Canada Day!

This past weekend the five of us were playing an outdoor game called Ring Toss. We were introduced to it last summer in Nova Scotia. It’s simple but hard. You literally have to toss a ring into a small circle that’s 18 ft away.

I love playing games with my kids or anyone for that matter. But I’m not into the imaginary play. On the floor with figurines, no thanks. That’s why we gave our kids siblings.
