“Is it even possible?”

What if I’m not good enough?

What if they say no?

What if they don’t like me?

Do you ever STOP yourself before you’ve EVEN STARTED?

I sure did, but here’s what changed for me! I finally realized that I was MAKING UP ALL OF THE OUTCOMES to be negative. If I’m making the shit up anyways, why not choose something that actually adds value to me!

It became really clear WHY I avoided taking specific action. Why would I choose to do something I had already told myself I was going to fail at.  True for you too?

What Are You Walking Right Over?

Literally, as I walked in the woods over the weekend with my dog, I couldn’t help but giggle at myself. Along the path were thousands of green stems with little purple flowers (name evades me at the moment….anyone??), poking up from under the leaves of the ravine’s floor. They were all around me, yet I hadn’t even noticed until then.

Yes, I know it’s a sign of Spring, so they literally just grew, but to me it was a reminder of all of the opportunities that are right around me, sometimes right under my feet, that I wasn’t even paying attention to or taking advantage of.

Getting Out of Our Own Way

Yesterday, was my idea of heaven! Being in a community of like-minded entrepreneurs who believe in the possibility of creating what they dream of!  (I was at the Women in Biz Conference ( http://womeninbiznetwork.com/)… Vancouver…it’s coming your way in October!!

The conference was filled with a few hundred business women who were there to learn, network and committed to taking their businesses to the next level.

During the 1-on-1 power coaching sessions I was asked to offer….a huge obstacle became so apparent. Far too many of these awesome women were standing in their own way!  Their own fears, insecurities or self-doubt was keeping them stuck. Keeping them from having the business they dream of, of making the money they deserve, or getting out there in a BIG way to offer the gift that they have to the world.

I hear from so many business women that are wanting to be ‘on the stage’….(stay with me now, metaphorically speaking…but some, literally too).  They have a desire to do more, be more….coupled with a yearning and willingness do it.  But….here’s the BUT: they spend so much time preparing, fine tuning, getting more education, updating their websites….avoiding the exact actions that will draw back the curtains and have them performing on center stage, so people can actually see them and know they have something to offer …and ROCKING it!

No matter where we are in our businesses, whether you have just started or have been at it for a while, the difference between the companies that are soaring and thriving are women who have chosen to get out of their own way.

Women who are willing to step out of their comfort zones, stretch into the unknown and TRUST in themselves.

This is my wish for everyone reading this, and for myself too, no matter where you are in your business .  My true belief is that we will never reach our highest potential if we don’t choose to trust in ourselves, in our abilities, and step out of our comfort zone.

What are you willing to do today?  I’m know what I’m doing.  I’m hosting:  Get Out of Your Own Way: 3 Tools for Taking Confident Action to Boost Sales, Attract More Clients and Enjoy the Ride!  A FREE 60 min teleseminar May 7 at 2 pm (EST).  Save the date!

“Get Over Yourself”…do you need to?

I sure did! I literally just closed my front door, turned around and said it out loud!

My blurt was instigated by the Jehovah’s Witnesses at my door.  Two lovely ladies knocked on my door very confidently and stood there sharing their messages with no reservations.

I shut the door and said out loud “Seriously Victoria, get over yourself”.

Their timing was beautiful! They were the exact reminder I needed to get me into action…the action I had been avoiding!

Here were two women obviously doing their life’s work, constantly putting themselves ‘out there’, for the purpose of serving others.  Here I was, sitting behind my computer, having so much to give, but choosing to remain silent and inactive.

I started to type this blog, then thought “where’s the credibility in here”.  I take pride in my ability to help women take confident action, outside of their comfort zones, to get results.  Here I was avoiding it.  I was totally aware that I was avoiding my call, but that seemed to be fine with me in the moment.

So, I did two things before I continued to type this.  I #1) pitched a conference to be a speaker #2) called a very well-known coach to pitch an idea on how we can work together…and he’s since responded;)

…and it feels SO much better just to do it! Stop thinking about it, and take action knowing you are now one step closer to reaching your goals.

What do you KNOW YOU NEED to do, that you’ve been avoiding…and want to commit to doing it this week?

Share here and then report back to celebrate!

I am also thrilled to host my first Power Hour Spreecast: Tues April 16th at 2 -3 p.m. (EST) where you are invited to join in the free conversation.  Come and share what specific action you keep avoiding, that you know you need to take, and I’ll bring my coaching toolkit to get you into action!  It’s FREE. Selling Yourself – 3 Quick Ways to do it Authentically and with Confidence

It’s not polite to talk about yourself. Have you heard this before? I grew up hearing my mother’s voice in my head “I can always count on you to be appropriate”. My interpretation of this was that I should not talk highly about myself. I should down play my abilities and accomplishments, deflect compliments and not share my successes.

What I KNOW NOW is that this message from my past isn’t helping me to achieve my goals…and I bet some of your messages are not helping you either! And who’s kidding who, no matter what your title is, you are in sales. We always need to sell ourselves, no matter what our role is.

I wanted to share the 3 Biggest mistakes we make when selling ourselves, self-promoting and offer you solutions to be able to authentically talk about yourself in a way that doesn’t feel uncomfortable or salesy!

Hmmm....have you asked yourself this question?
